My Daughter the Princess

While I love my daughter with all of my soul. I can't image why she wants to be a princess... Well I suppose something has to do with her being 4 but beyond that I just don't get it. Princesses I believe may just be the root of all evil. After all they like things that are super fuzzy, glitter everything, and most horribly everything needs to be pink or purple. YUCK! If you are a true princess you don't like to get dirty, EVER! Which means that if you are a child you can't play in the mud, the sandbox, or anything outside, but you beg to go outside because that's what kids do. When we can get my daughter to play quietly outside on her bike or something you will very soon hear the shrieking that is her discovering that bugs are everywhere outside. While this is mostly ants apparently princesses don't like ants. Plus in my dealings with people the "Princesses" tend to be whinny, self centered and full of themselves. So I suppose this does describe most 4 yr old girls.

However on the flip side, I suppose you are expected to act like a brat if you don't get your way. You do expect to get your way whenever you ask, and as I have been told on several occasions that "I know everything", and "I said you need to listen to me." Plus I have discovered over the last several months that you can not be a princess unless you wear a dress on a daily basis and since I never wear dresses I can't possibly ever be a princess. While, I suppose she does get her way most of the time. I'm not exactly sure if this is part of her princess syndrome or her I'm an only child of parents who spoil me syndrome. Nor am I sure they are different.

While I don't actually hate the Disney Princesses or any other princesses for that matter, I actually think most of them are pretty harmless and her favorite is Sleeping Beauty so it's not all bad, I just hope she grows out of this Princess attitude someday.

This is of course, probably wishful thinking.
